Irtefa has spent the last decade working on issues of DEI as a community organizer, local government employee, graduate student and university staff member. She helped build and expand the vision for Albemarle County’s Office of Equity and Inclusion in her inaugural role as Coordinator for Equity and Accountability. Currently, she is the Associate Director for Community Development and Recruitment at UVA’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Irtefa has a PhD in Anthropology.
